Navigating Adolescence: Advice to My Teenage Self.

How To Parent A Yeen From A Teen’s Perspect?

What advice would you give to your teenage self?

“In the tapestry of advice to my teenage self, woven with threads of authenticity, wisdom, and compassion, lies the roadmap to a life of purpose, fulfillment, and inner peace.”
Krishna Moorthy M

As I reflect on my journey through adolescence, I’m filled with a sense of nostalgia and wisdom gained from life’s experiences. If I could turn back time and offer advice to my teenage self, here’s what I would say:

Be True to Yourself

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is the importance of authenticity. Embrace your uniqueness, follow your passions, and stay true to your values, even if it means standing out from the crowd. Authenticity is the key to living a fulfilling and meaningful life.

Learn Dharma & Artha

In the pursuit of knowledge and success, don’t forget the importance of understanding Dharma (righteousness) and Artha (material prosperity). Strive to lead a life guided by moral principles and ethical conduct, while also working towards achieving your material goals with integrity and diligence.

Prioritize Yoga Abhyasa

Invest time and effort in nurturing your physical, mental, and spiritual well-being through the practice of Yoga Abhyasa. Cultivate mindfulness, inner peace, and resilience through regular yoga practice, meditation, and breathwork. Your health and happiness are invaluable assets.

Cultivate Inclusivity

Embrace diversity and cultivate inclusivity in your thoughts, words, and actions. Respect and celebrate the differences that make each individual unique, and strive to create a more inclusive and compassionate society where everyone feels valued and accepted.

Perform & Participate in Religious Ceremony (Puja & Homa)*

Find solace and spiritual nourishment in the practice of religious ceremonies such as Puja (worship) and Homa (ritual fire offerings). These sacred rituals not only deepen your connection with the divine but also provide a sense of purpose, gratitude, and inner peace.

Get Wed and Love Your Wife & Children

When the time is right, embrace the institution of marriage with an open heart and a commitment to love, honor, and cherish your partner. Build a strong and loving relationship based on trust, communication, and mutual respect. Cherish the blessings of family life and prioritize the well-being and happiness of your wife and children.

Reminiscent the Elders and Remember Your Friends

Treasure the wisdom and guidance of your elders, for they are the custodians of invaluable life lessons and experiences. Honor their legacy and seek their counsel in times of need. Similarly, cherish the bonds of friendship forged over the years, and make time to nurture and strengthen those connections.

Divide Your Foe

In the face of adversity and conflict, strive to maintain inner calm and clarity of mind. Approach challenges with courage, resilience, and a strategic mindset. Remember that true strength lies not in defeating your enemies but in transcending the ego and cultivating peace within yourself and others.

If I could offer advice to my teenage self, I would emphasize the importance of authenticity, integrity, spiritual growth, and compassion. By staying true to oneself, cultivating wisdom, and nurturing meaningful relationships, one can navigate the complexities of life with grace, resilience, and inner peace.
